North America Logistics Director
Job Description
Stepan is seeking a Director of Logistics North America to join our Product Supply team based in Northbrook, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the North America Direct Logistics Team, including Transportation, Warehousing, Rail/Barge/Dangerous Goods, Import/Export and the Distribution Network. This position will be part of the North America Supply Chain Leadership Team and be responsible for both managing and setting the strategic direction for the department. This role reports to the Vice President of Plan, Deliver & Asset Management
- Manage the North America Transportation, Warehousing and Bulk Transport Teams covering 4 direct reports and a team of 20
- Responsible for achieving Product Supply and Service Improvement targets through Logistics process and operations improvement initiatives and in partnership with the broader Product Supply, Supply Chain, Commercial and Operations Teams
- Manage Department for execution of Service, Volume, and Cost Objectives, build team and grow expertise, enabling long-term value solutions. Ensure Compliance and Coverage for all areas of responsibility
- Develop and Execute a North American Distribution and Logistics Strategy to meet the growth objectives of Our Company.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of proven experience in leading Teams responsible for Logistics, Transportation Import/Export and Supply Chain
- Chemical or related field experience
- High-performing professional with a drive for results and experience operating in a transforming, highly-matrixed stakeholder environment
- Ability to develop and sustain effective team that supports operations and Company objectives
- Strong verbal and written communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with effective stakeholder engagement across functions and levels.
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft tools
- Interest and willingness to travel as needed for the role
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Master’s Degree preferred
