North America Operations Controller
The Blueprint (Role Profile)
Reporting to the Global Operations Controller, this position will support multiple manufacturing facilities in Lexington, SC, Dayton, OH, Auburn Hills, MI, York, PA, Jonesboro, AR, and Sumter, SC. These sites represent a combined total of $150M in production. The successful candidate will work closely with North American plant leaders and the North America Operations Finance teams to lead financial operations activities such as planning, controlling, reporting and investments. We are open to this role being based from Lexington, SC, York, PA or Sparks, MD.

The Build (Responsibilities)
- Be a strong business partner to the Director of Operations at each assigned location and the Global Operations Controller.
- Coordinate and review the financial planning, controlling, reporting, procurement, and investment activities for each assigned location.
- Coordinate and prepare financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and other reports pertaining to assigned locations.
- Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
- Lead, coach and develop associates performing operations financial reporting, accounting, controlling, and budgeting duties.
- Coordinate, develop, and document standard work and processes across assigned locations.
- Interface with local business leaders to understand forecasted demand and changes in the cost environment to determine and communicate the impact on the business.
- Use lean tools such as root cause analysis, countermeasures, and action planning to establish and manage continuous improvement.
- Validate sourcing, process improvement and capital allocation request savings for gross margin flow-through.
- Assist the coordination of the physical inventory ensuring appropriate controls are in place and followed. Report results and ensure adequate investigation and explanation of book to physical adjustments.
- Coordinate the annual update of standard costs for assigned locations and effectively communicate the drivers of year-over-year changes to include the impact on the business.
- Coordinate the maintenance and review of financial records of purchased items, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories to assist in managing continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and assist with the review and preparation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts.
- Coordination and review of Make vs. Buy product cost analysis as needed.
- Assist with the preparation and review of capital appropriation requests.
- Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, governmental policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
- Conduct or coordinate audits of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with company accounting procedures and ensure SOX compliance.
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
- BS Degree in Accounting or Finance Required.
- 10+ years’ progressive experience in an accounting or controlling function within a manufacturing environment.
- Advanced ERP knowledge (SAP strongly preferred), Hyperion and Microsoft Excel software.
- Knowledge of GAAP, financial consolidation systems (Hyperion) and internal control framework.
- Proven ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy under tight deadlines and to manage multiple projects.
- Strong collaborative and communication skills, ability to build strong networks in the organization and ability to influence others.
- Ability to identify roadblocks to a process and develop a strategy to effectively circumvent them.
- Solutions oriented and can quickly assess a situation offering alternatives with related risks and rewards.
- Strong change agent that has the ability to show the impact of change, minimize undesirable impacts and onboard the changes effectively.
- Demonstrated Make vs. Buy product costing experience.
- Travel required (~25%).
