This expansion is a testament to our commitment to advancing healthcare and improving patient outcomes in Winston-Salem and beyond.Our Cardiovascular Surgical ICU which will be a newly renovated 29 bed unit located in the new critical care tower at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. The CVSU (Cardiovascular Surgical Unit) specializes in providing concentrated care and management for patients with severe cardiac, vascular, and thoracic disorders. We focus on invasive hemodynamic monitoring, cardiovascular surgery implementation of mechanical support. CVSU provides post anesthesia care to cardiovascular patients who have received general anesthesia.The CVSU serves critically ill patients 18 years or older. Patients admitted to this unit may be receiving treatment for a variety of cardiac related but not limited to• Cardiogenic Shock• Aortic Dissection• Mechanical Circulatory Support ECMO, VA,VV, VAV, RVAD and LVAD• Cardiac Tamponade• Post Open Heart Surgery• CVSU is available to provide 24/7 careThe CVSU is a diverse group of professional staff who have received advanced education and competency in the domain of cardiothoracic services. All new admissions to CVSU are assigned to ONE RN so that each nurse can devote attention to the care of the patient until critical elements are achieved. Your expertise and passion for patient care will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and expand our services.• Schedule: 7am-7pm, Full Time, Day Shift• Sign-On Bonus: $20K• Relocation: Up To $7500• Department: Cardiovascular Surgical ICU (CVSU)• Location: Forsyth Medical Center - Winston-Salem, NC• 8 Beds• 2-1:1 Ratio• Patient Population: Post open heart throacotomies, esopgagogastrectomies, only unit trained to do open heart patients. Act as PACU, patients recover within 24 hours and transferred within 48 hours to specialized Stepdown unit (6CICCU).• Require two call days in a six week time track. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license.
