Our work at NVIDIA is dedicated towards a computing model focused on visual and AI computing. For two decades, NVIDIA has pioneered visual computing, the art and science of computer graphics, with our invention of the GPU. The GPU has also shown to be spectacularly effective at solving some of the most complex problems in computer science. Today, NVIDIA’s GPU simulates human intelligence, running deep learning algorithms and acting as the brain of computers, robots and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. We are looking to grow our company and teams with the smartest people in the world and there has never been a more exciting time to join our team!
It's an exciting time to join the NVIDIA DGX Cloud Platform Engineering group’s compute software team! As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work alongside architects, senior engineers, SREs and others to develop high performance Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure on Kubernetes. Together we will enable next-generation AI services on NVIDIA GPU accelerated computing systems across the cloud. The intern will write software that aligns with the broad architectural vision for the NVIDIA DGX Cloud Platform. Candidates having hands-on development experience with distributed systems, container runtimes and cloud technologies will be preferred. We also welcome out-of-the-box problem solvers who can provide new insights, challenge the status quo, and are willing to open up the boundaries. The intern will own their code – from development to commit to test to production. They will be responsible for supporting SRE teams and collaborate with internal product teams on designing sophisticated distributed systems problems at scale.
What you will be doing:
Work with a core group of engineers passionate about tackling hard problems in distributed system design, fault-tolerance, and AI infrastructure in real-world production systems
Design and develop constraint optimization algorithms to optimize resource management on large-scale high-throughput clusters
Create design documents that emphasize data-driven decisions and validate improvements using metrics
Collaborate with engineering teams across all of NVIDIA to ensure your software integrates seamlessly up and down the stack
What we need to see:
Pursuing a BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Physics / Mathematics
Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scalable runtime design and distributed systems
Strong programming skills and expert-level knowledge of a systems programming language (C/C++/Go/Rust)
Highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills, you have the ability to work successfully with multi-functional teams, principals, and architects and coordinate effectively across interpersonal boundaries and geographies
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Hands-on experience with building scalable distributed systems
Experience with building AI/ML/DL based software solutions for large-scale AI infrastructure
Upstream contribution in open source projects, such as, Kubernetes
NVIDIA is leading the way in groundbreaking developments in Artificial Intelligence, High-Performance Computing and Visualization. The GPU, our invention, serves as the visual cortex of modern computers and is at the heart of our products and services. Our work opens up new universes to explore, enables amazing creativity and discovery, and powers what were once science fiction inventions from artificial intelligence to autonomous cars. NVIDIA is looking for great people like you to help us accelerate the next wave of artificial intelligence.
The hourly rate for our interns is 18 USD - 71 USD. Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience. You will also be eligible for Intern benefits. NVIDIA accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
