Technical Project Manager

Observable is redefining how businesses create and share data apps by giving developers the tools they need to create their best data apps, dashboards, and reports. Our open-source Framework allows developers to build dashboards locally while our secure hosting service makes it easy for teams to share data apps and discover deeper insights together. We're looking for a Technical Program Manager to join the Observable team! In this role, you'll collaborate closely with leaders across the organization to plan, coordinate, and deliver our most critical projects. You'll take ownership of the engineering planning process and manage projects within our Design and Engineering teams. You'll also be the key point of contact for stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and the Office of the CEO. As Observable builds out a robust platform for our customers' data apps, your contributions will be essential in ensuring we achieve our goals efficiently and confidently. The Engineering team will count on your expertise and attention to detail to ensure projects are executed to plan and launched smoothly.

• Manage projects and programs involving Engineering, Design, and stakeholders across multiple teams and departments.
• Help define priorities for Design and Engineering efforts.
• Improve our project management processes, particularly in identifying dependencies, assessing risks, and managing schedules.
• Improve the visibility of ongoing projects within the company.
• Hold folks accountable to their commitments to projects and other teams.
• Collaborate with members of leadership across all departments to coordinate quarterly planning.
• Provide frequent communication to project team members and stakeholders.
• Lead by example with clear and consistent written communication.

• 4+ years of relevant program/project management experience.
• Self-motivation and the ability to identify what work needs to be done.
• Ability to establish and enforce best practices.
• Comfort with working in an ever-changing startup environment.
