The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Division of Child Support Services is seeking to hire a motivated candidate to serve as an Office Coordinator assigned to our Customer Inquiry Resolution Unit (CIRU). Under the direction of the Clerical Supervisor, this position will perform a variety of complex technical office support function such as drafting correspondence, and reports for the CIRU. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of office practices, procedures, and programs with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as secretary for the Manager of the Cook Community Outreach unit in the Division of Child Support Services, Cook Case Management Operations
  • Conducts special projects and studies
  • Performs a variety of complex clerical activities
  • Keyboards and reviews requisitions, vouchers, and forms
  • Receives, opens, sorts, and stamps incoming mail
  • Screens calls for Manager and staff
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college, or completion of high school and two years of related office experience, or two years of independent business experience
  • Requires the ability to keyboard 30 words per minute

Conditions of Employment

  • This position requires the ability to pass a national background check prior to employment due to accessing confidential federal tax information
  • Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop
