Full Stack Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Full-Stack Developer to take on a pivotal role in our company. As the first full-time developer at Olus, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the technical direction of our projects and influence our development practices. You will be responsible for delivering a wide range of applications and collaborating closely with colleagues, clients and external providers to ensure seamless integration and high-quality outcomes.

The legal sector is undergoing a radical transformation as digital technologies are changing the way lawyers work. There is no requirement to have worked in the legal sector, however the role requires strong communication skills to facilitate successful projects in environments where clients may not be experienced in digital innovation. As well as being highly skilled in software development the successful applicant must also have a passion for sharing and coaching others in this field.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead Development Projects: Take ownership of the full development lifecycle, from initial concept and prototyping to deployment and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work directly with clients, engineers, and external providers to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure that solutions meet business needs.
  • Innovate and Prototype: Develop rapid prototypes and proofs of concept to explore new ideas and technologies, demonstrating their potential to stakeholders.
  • Build Robust Applications: Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable applications using existing frameworks and low-code platforms.
  • Agile Methodologies: Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to deliver high-quality software in a timely manner.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends, continuously improving our development practices and solutions.
  • Mentorship and Leadership: As the team grows, provide mentorship and guidance to other team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

This role requires a developer who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, international, and dynamic environment, and is passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex problems for large enterprises. Your ability to adapt to new challenges and technologies will be crucial in driving our success.

  • A minimum of three years of industry experience as a full-stack developer with experience in key programming languages (C#, Python and JavaScript) and associated relational database technologies (Postgres, MySQL and SQL server)
  • Skilled in rapidly designing, developing and deploying applications with low-code platforms including Microsoft Power Platform, Outsystems, and similar
  • Experience of integrating AI technologies and working alongside data science and ML engineers. Skills in Azure Cognitive Services and RESTful APIs preferred.  
  • Skilled in unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing, to ensure quality and reliability
  • Able to apply best practice in information security and application performance
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
