The Role

Trillium is seeking a Data and Analytics Intern. As an Intern, you’ll work hands-on with real trading data to uncover correlations and insights that contribute to the health and growth of Trillium’s trading operations. Under the mentorship of a Data Analyst and the Managing Director of Trading, you’ll explore data-driven strategies and analytical techniques to identify key trends impacting our trading floors. This internship is designed to deepen your understanding of economics, quantitative analysis, and market behavior through the lens of proprietary trading.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze trader data to identify correlations with P&L outcomes 
  • Leverage historical trading data to inform risk management practices 
  • Conduct data reviews to explore causative factors in trading success 
  • Develop analytic reports and web applications that deliver actionable insights to support trading strategies 
  • Measure firm-wide metrics to identify future trends in trading performance 
  • Interpret and summarize quarterly and annual data for meaningful insights 
  • Ensure deliverables are scalable and easy to update periodically 
  • Distribute data products with strict adherence to security protocols, maintaining data protection for all stakeholders 
  • Clearly communicate complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences 

 

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale 
  • Proficiency in MySQL, R (or Python), Git, and Microsoft Excel  
  • Familiarity with the R Shiny (or Dash) web framework 
  • Experience in cloud-based data environments (e.g., AWS) and managing data pipelines 
  • Understanding of statistical analysis and modeling 

 

Location: This is a hybrid role based in NYC.

 

Compensation and Perks

  • $25/hour for an 8-week internship – 40 Hours/Week
  • Access to Bloomberg Terminal and Certification
