About the Role

As OpenAI continues to grow, we are seeking a Transportation Operations Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of our transportation services. This role will be responsible for coordinating daily transportation logistics, resolving operational issues, and ensuring smooth service delivery across shuttles, ride-hail services, and parking facilities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where efficiency and responsiveness are key.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA, and requires in-office presence 5 days a week to provide real-time operational support.

In this role, you will:

• Support the daily operations of OpenAI’s transportation services, including shuttles, ride-hail programs, and parking facilities.

• Monitor and respond to transportation-related inquiries from employees, vendors, and internal teams.

• Act as a liaison between OpenAI, transportation vendors, and landlords to ensure services are running smoothly.

• Conduct site checks and inspect transportation services to ensure safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.

• Identify and report operational issues, escalating concerns as needed for resolution.

• Assist in coordinating service schedules, vendor communications, and parking logistics.

• Maintain accurate transportation data and records, tracking usage and reporting basic insights to the team.

• Support company events and special logistics needs, collaborating with teams such as Corporate Security and Facilities.

• Assist in employee communication efforts, ensuring that transportation updates and best practices are clearly conveyed.

• Provide feedback on vendor performance, supporting contract compliance and service improvements.

You might thrive in this role if you:

• Have 2+ years of experience in transportation operations, logistics, facilities, or related support roles.

• Are organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing day-to-day operations.

• Excel at problem-solving, able to troubleshoot minor issues independently while escalating larger concerns appropriately.

• Possess strong communication skills, working effectively with employees, vendors, and landlords.

• Have experience using basic data tools (Google Sheets, Excel, or transportation management software) to track service performance.

• Are comfortable in a fast-paced environment, adaptable to changing priorities, and ready to handle logistical challenges.

• Take ownership of tasks and work with a service-oriented mindset, ensuring employees have a smooth and reliable commuting experience.
