Operations Analyst

About the Role
- Support the CUO Casualty and the extended Global Casualty Leadership team with engagements and activities that deliver on the company's strategic objectives.
- Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes that impact the Casualty Reinsurance business.
- Contribute to the design and definition of business and operational performance framework for Casualty BU as well as individual market units.
- Closely align with other functions to ensure an integrated and lean process ensuring the operational success of Swiss Re's Complex Casualty business. Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of initiatives.
- In conjunction with Finance and CUO Casualty, monitor the sales and operational performance of the Casualty BU and of the market units via key performance indicators. Assist in the development of business plans, financial models, and presentations to support strategic decision-making.
- Participate in the Casualty-wide strategic projects as they arise.
- Provide regular feedback to the Casualty Leadership team in regard to their strategy development and execution. Support delivery of presentations and briefing material for internal management meetings.
- Work alongside market unit heads for the development and implementation of any market-specific focus areas. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and execute on growth opportunities, improve performance culture, and ensure the right services are provided to the right clients.
About the Team
- The DOO team works together with senior leaders in the P&C Reinsurance unit and aspires to co-pilot the strategic direction of P&C globally and drive operational excellence to position Swiss Re for success today and tomorrow.
- The DOO Casualty CUO team's mandate is to support the Global Head of Casualty and the extended Global Casualty Leadership team with engagements and activities that deliver on the company's strategic objectives.
About You
- Bachelor Degree
- 3-4 years of financial markets or re/insurance experience; management consulting experience and/or experience within Casualty business a plus
- Ability and enthusiasm to work in a challenging and complex global environment, naturally bringing individuals together as needed, across functions, levels and regions
- Strategic thinker with analytical skills
- Approaches problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, a fast learner
- Innovative, showing a high degree of own initiative
- Consistently deliver high quality work; reliable and accountable
- Team player, willingness to contribute actively to the overall team spirit
- Agile and flexible to changing circumstances
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Advanced proficiency in Powerpoint and Excel required, knowledge in PowerBI a plus
- Familiarity with Reinsurance Cockpit a plus
For New York City and Armonk the estimated base salary range for this position is $68,000 to $110,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
