There are eight biodiesel operating technician positions (2 per shift) in biodiesel operations to cover a 24-hour, 7 day per week production schedule having four shifts in twelve-hour increments. The biodiesel operating technician is responsible for on-going real time operations of the Biodiesel Plant. Each Biodiesel Operating Technician has a defined process responsibility. Process responsibilities for the eight operating technician positions are grouped as follows:

The role of the Biodiesel Operating Technician is to provide the operational skills for successful operation of the plant. While their primary focus is operation of the plant equipment, they are also expected to be involved in planning, implementation, data interpretation, and results presentation. The Biodiesel Operating Technician must fully understand the purpose and goals of the plant and Company. They are expected to perform in a participative team environment, providing leadership and accepting responsibility appropriate with their skill and knowledge.

Responsibilities:
Operate equipment and processes
Procure and analyze samples
Log data readings
Records 5:00 AM Inventory Data
Execute process adjustments based upon interpretation of analytical and process data
Prepare or update equipment or process operating documents and procedures
Perform utility work (cleaning/GMP)
Write requisitions for parts, materials, and supplies
Conduct physical inventory
Troubleshoot plant problems
Participate in all quality, safety, and health programs
Prepare reports
Make presentations
Participate in team activities
Report on production activities during shift change meeting
Assist maintenance and quality assurance in performance of tasks
Filling in other departments as needed
Maintain plant security
Required Qualifications:
Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa, or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
Able to perform physical job duties such as bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation
Able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including a respirator
Able to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Able to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
Experience using a computer
Able to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience operating mobile equipment such as forklift
Experience working in a production or plant environment
