Position Overview:
The Director of Mobile Service will manage and optimize the mobile service operations for the trailer industry, focusing on delivering high-quality on-site service to customers. This role involves developing and maintaining a fleet of mobile service units and ensuring effective and efficient service delivery at customer locations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mobile service management, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Mobile Service Operations Management:
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance mobile service operations and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the development and utilization of mobile service units, ensuring they are equipped and maintained to meet service needs.
  • Develop standard training procedures to drive effective safety and quality in all markets.
  • Develop standards for mobile unit layout depending on markets and customer requirements.
  • Develop cradle to grave training with help from people services to insure proper material movements and real time invoicing.
  • Work closely with branch GM’S to drive improvements, follow up and accountability within the mobile team
  • Work with GM’S and VP of services to identify new markets for growth with an understanding of cost and tech requirements to be successful.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Team Leadership and Management:
  • Mentor and support a team of mobile service technicians and support staff.
  • Work with GM and service management in conducting performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs specific to mobile service operations.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, safety, and excellence within the mobile service team.
Customer Relationship and Service Delivery:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing service-related concerns and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Implement and manage processes for collecting and acting on customer feedback to improve mobile service quality.
  • Ensure timely resolution of service issues and effective communication with customers during on-site visits.
Operational Efficiency and Fleet Management:
  • Oversee the maintenance and management of the mobile service fleet, including scheduling regular inspections and repairs.
  • Monitor and optimize the use of service vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work with GM’S and VP of operations in developing and manage the mobile service budget, including vehicle expenses, fuel, and maintenance costs.
Strategic Planning and Development:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to grow and improve mobile service operations in line with company goals.
  • Identify and implement best practices for mobile service management, including technology and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., sales, parts) to ensure seamless integration of mobile service with overall business operations.
Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies specific to mobile service operations.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols for mobile service activities to protect both technicians and customers.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, and certification in relating fields
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in service management, with a focus on mobile or field service operations within the trailer industry or a related field.
  • Proven track record of managing mobile service teams and operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading mobile service teams.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management abilities.
  • Knowledge of mobile service operations, including fleet management, on-site repair procedures, and safety standards.
  • Proficient in mobile service management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage a mobile service fleet and team efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a focus on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
