Packaging Attendant
The purpose of the Wrapper Technician position is to operate, adjust and clean the wrapping machine equipment. This position is also directly responsible for maintaining a supply of packaging materials: wrappers, glue, etc. The Wrapper Tech is also in charge of operating and adjusting the printing and labeling equipment. The target of this position is to provide correctly packaged material which is sealed, shrunk, and palletized correctly in order to reduce waste and cost.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Notify your supervisor immediately of any accident, near miss or on- the -job injury when it occurs no matter how insignificant it may seem.-
Take personal ownership to work safely each and every day and hold other team members to the same high standards of safety

Fix unsafe conditions and report them immediately to supervisor

Clean and adjust packaging equipment
-
Make minor repairs to packaging and notify supervisor of equipment malfunctions
-
Visually inspect materials and remove defective materials
-
Apply product identifications and codes
-
Repair or report problems to supervisor
-
Assist in repairing line breaks
-
Direct and assist in rewraps
-
When wrapping rolls, apply glue to wrapper, center roll and roll it down conveyor across wrapper
-
Clear jams at palletizer and accumulating conveyors
-
Assist with Front End breaks
-
Keep work area clean
-
Any other task or duty that is assigned by the Team Leaders
-
Participates in safety and housekeeping programs as established by Plant
-
Avoid any problems leading to scrap or seconds
-
Help Autocatchers stack off seconds as needed and work with other Front-End personnel to keep entire Front End running smoothly

Notify Team Leaders/SOL of equipment problems requiring work orders
-
Follow up on work orders
-
Use down time to clean and organize Front End area
-
Participate in Process Teams, supporting the Team’s goals for each area of expectation on your shift.

Comply with all plant rules
-
Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area
-
Regular Attendance and the ability to work overtime as needed.

All other duties as assigned or needed

COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES
The employee must be able to:
Must be able to operate a computer or other keyboard instrument-
Log into and navigate Owens Corning University (OCU) and accomplish required online training routinely
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent-
Some manufacturing experience is helpful
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
Ability to stand for 10 - 12 hours straight-
Able to climb and descend stairs for up to 12 hours continuously

Lift and push and pull 50lbs. More than 100 times per day

Able to do repetitive hand, arm, leg movements for 12 hours

Must be able to squat, bend at the waist and knees freely

Exposure to temperature extremes

Exposure to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable

Bending and twisting
-
Able to climb on and off fork truck

Handle, control or feel objects, tools, or control

Able to work with fiberglass all day
