To satisfy the needs of our growing client base, Hamilton Lane is looking to hire a Paralegal to join our Fund Investment Team in Conshohocken, PA.
The Paralegal will be responsible for working with multiple attorneys on the Fund Investment Team primarily with respect to investments in private investment funds. The Paralegal will be expected to function as an independent professional, managing their own workload and deadlines rather than just in support of the attorneys on the team. There is significant potential for growth, development and leadership opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordination/preparation/drafting of legal documents, fund information, and closing documentation in connection with closings of investments in private equity funds.

Post-closing coordination of ongoing legal documentation and tracking subsequent client closings into various funds and certain of their portfolio companies.

Communication with clients, outside/opposing counsel and funds and other Hamilton Lane internal resources regarding legal documentation and closing logistics and issues regarding timing of closings.

Maintenance of records of transactions, including distribution of legal documents, dissemination of pertinent information to necessary internal and external personnel and timely saving documents and correspondence in a shared system.

Ability to comprehend complex legal structures and manage client-specific considerations related to investments being made on behalf of Hamilton Lane’s clients.

Assist business personnel and relationship management professionals with research and data gathering assignments.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS; Education and/or Experience:

Paralegal training (certificate) from an ABA-approved program and minimum 7 years work experience as a paralegal in a corporate law department or law firm corporate law group.

Must have significant experience with preparation and review of legal documentation and able to identify certain issues independently.

AML/KYC experience strongly preferred

Understanding of corporate entities/formation required

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have previous experience with client contact.

High level of proficiency with MS office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint), and Adobe

Ability to interface effectively with clients, peers and other parties to a transaction.

Ability to work well as a team member and independently. A successful applicant for this role will have a track record of eagerness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as processes are mastered.

Must be extremely detail-oriented ,highly organized and self-disciplined.

Must be able to simultaneously manage many assignments and quickly shift focus from one project to another as circumstances dictate. Ability to proactively and independently handle multiple convergent deadlines is critical.
