Responsibilities

This position is dedicated to billing and follow-up collections within the UC Davis Health – CPG Billing Unit. The UC Davis Health – CPG Billing Unit. provides billing and follow-up collections services for the approximately 150 CPG providers. Performs follow-up on accounts with past due balance.

Required Qualifications

• Follow-up Medical billing Experience
  History of successful payor denial appeals
• Knowledge of Commercial, government and third party payors. Including current regulations, time limitations and procedures
• Intermediate knowledge of the use of CPT-4, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding systems
• Intermediate knowledge of medical terminology, sufficient to correlate billing data to actual charges and to determine appropriateness of payor actions

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior professional medical billing experience a plus

Special Requirements

This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
