Podcast Acquisition Manager

Patreon is the best place for creators to fire up their fandoms, share exclusive work, and turn their passions into lasting creative businesses. Over 250,000 podcasters, writers, musicians, artists, and other creative people use Patreon to reach their biggest fans directly and earn an income for the value they provide. Creators can offer paid memberships that unlock access to exclusive work and community, or sell individual digital items from their own Patreon shops.

Ultimately, our goal is simple: fund the creative class. And we’re leaders in that space, having sent over $3.5 billion to creators since our founding. We’re continuing to invest heavily in building the best creator tools with the best team in the creator economy, and are looking for a Podcast Acquisition Manager to support our mission.

This role is based in New York or San Francisco and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.

About the Role

This role will be required to leverage their professional podcast networks to convert high potential UK & US  businesses to Patreon’s core product, membership. In order to do so you must:

  • Source existing and high potential new leads in the podcast market to build a robust pipeline of acquisitions in the UK & Australian markets

  • Develop a ‘winning pitch’ specific to that market, including inputs from market trends, competitors, and product developments

  • Quickly assess potential product market fit of creative accounts against membership

  • Negotiate with a high level of skill, always aiming at an ROI positive partnership for the business, but never putting a creator facing relationship at risk

  • Close & launch accounts in alignment with our strategic best practices for on platform success

About You

  • You possess 6-8 years of sales, partnerships, and dealmaking experience at a membership platform, podcast network, or creator technology platform.

  • You have a strong network of UK podcast talent, producers, and representatives

  • You have a strong grasp on UK podcast market trends, emerging properties, and membership business opportunities

  • You have a keen eye for assessing product market fit & predicting digital conversion

  • You are an excellent and experienced negotiator, always aiming to get the most and give the least, but never putting the deal or the relationship at risk.

  • You have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • You like to WIN and have fun doing it!

About Patreon

We hire talented and passionate people from different backgrounds across the organization. If you’re excited about a role but your past experience doesn’t match with every bullet point outlined above, we strongly encourage you to apply anyway. If you’re a creator at heart, are energized by our mission, and share our company values, we’d love to hear from you.
