How you’ll have an impact at Paula’s Choice:

The creative team serves as the visual catalyst for the Paula's Choice brand. As Principal Designer, you have an opportunity to directly influence branding, content, and customer experiences across all channels. While this role will be focused on leading design as a strong individual contributor, you will still collaborate closely with other members of the creative team and cross-functional partners to craft unique visuals that drive results. The Principal Designer will be actively involved in all aspects of the creative process—blending hands-on creativity and design expertise within the creative team.  

As Principal Designer a typical day might include a mix of the following: 

  • Develop 360 campaign assets and provide design direction & active support to cross-functional teams 
  • Monitor project output across channels to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with both campaign-specific visual cues and overall brand guidelines 
  • Strategize and collaborate closely with Brand, Marketing & DTC partners to optimize and redesign new & existing collateral 
  • Oversee asset development and overarching design strategy from ideation to execution
  • Support junior designers, providing ongoing professional development and training opportunities 
  • Develop and implement strategic thinking within creative team  
  • Provide overarching support to creative team members as necessary 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by your manager  

The Details: 

  • Location: Flexible, Seattle candidates preferred. U.S. Based Role.
  • Hours: Typical PST business hours will require some flexibility. 
  • Physical requirements:  Ability to sit for long periods and ability to manage long periods of screen time.  
  • Travel requirements: up to 10%. 

 What you’ll bring to the table: 

  • Demonstrated talent (portfolio showcasing examples of relevant digital assets including 360 / multichannel campaign creation) 
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or equivalent experience 
  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design and production 
  • 3+ years Corporate-level experience creating suites of marketing collateral 
  • Experience in the cosmetics &/or skincare field
  • Experience simultaneously creating retail and digital assets including visual merchandising, site, email & paid advertising
  • Professional Level Experience in Video Creation / Implementation & Graphic Animations 
  • Highly motivated self-starter, detail and quality oriented  
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude and enthusiasm to get things done 
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal skills and experience 
  • Experience coaching/mentoring junior designers 
  • High proficiency in Adobe CC Suite; including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign & AfterEffects 
  • Ability to effectively & proactively prioritize tasks 
  • Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills 
  • High attention to detail 
  • Strong production skills with the ability to take direction while collaborating with a wide variety of team members 
  • Top notch verbal and written communication skills. Ability to gain a full understanding of the scope of each project and how to present and explain the design methodology as well as your ideas

 Approximate Salary Range Based on Experience and Location:

$80,000 - $90,000 USD/annually

Paula’s Choice Skincare determines the pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external and internal equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.

For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget. This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan.
