This position is responsible for all aspects of the payroll cycle for the College, including, but not limited to, timesheets, systems processing, reporting and special projects.
Assist with the processing of all payroll cycles including staff, faculty (adjunct and full-time) and students (College Work Study, and Campus Employment)
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate coordination with College Work Study and Campus Employment coordinators
- Validate student employees (on campus & College Work Study) to Student Services and Human Resources clearance forms for student employment
- Maintain, review and process employee time reports; including accuracy and verification of time entry and calculation of overtime
- Respond to incoming inquiries from employees and department managers
- Assist in the verification and calculation of benefits and retro deductions
- Work with Accounting personnel to reconcile College Work Study to the general ledger and deductions accounts
- Prepare retirement plan remittance summary
- Prepare and update student workers and tutors exception reports and monitor thresholds to minimize overage
- Process garnishments ensuring timely remittance
- Assist with verifying payroll changes received from Human Resources regarding promotion, termination and new hires for staff, faculty (full-time and adjuncts), student workers, etc.
- Assist with the verification of overloads and adjuncts pay to NBAJOBS
- Process manual checks, voids and replacements checks
- Suggest revisions to policies and procedures
- Assist with tuition remission processing and abandoned property follow-up
- Sort and distribute mail
- Process semi-monthly cash disbursement reports
- Assist in the processing, maintenance and monitoring of leave (vacation, sick, personal time) reports
- Process faculty and adjuncts reports
- Process direct deposit requests
- Perform other duties/projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum two years of experience processing payroll required
- Strong customer service experience required
- Ability to work independently required
Strong attention to detail required
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, etc.) required including strong Excel skills and ability to manipulate (i.e. pivot tables, filters, etc.) data required
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro preferred
- Banner experience preferred
- Experience in accounting or related field preferred
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills required
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required, Master’s degree preferred.
Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual

Pay: $21.97 - $27.47 per hour
