Payroll and Tax Setup Specialist (Remote)

The Payroll Tax Setup Specialist will be responsible for ensuring client tax accounts are setup accurate and timely. This role will work with clients as well as federal, state, and local agencies to collect or setup client tax accounts. 

How you'll add value:

• Setup and maintain tax account portal access.
• Works with agencies to obtain and or verify tax ID’s, frequencies, rates, and account statuses.
• Responsible for setting up and closing state and local tax accounts for clients.
• Registers for new tax accounts on behalf of new and existing clients.
• Reconciles tax amounts for termed clients and partners with federal, state, and local jurisdictions to return/draft funds as needed.
• Assists with special projects as needed including quarter-end and year-end processing.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful in this role:

• 1+ years of payroll tax filing experience.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of U.S. local, state, and federal payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure product and services are compliant.
• Experience using QuickBooks or a similar accounting platform.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational and work prioritization skills.
• Knowledge and experience in the SaaS / Software industry preferred, but not required.
• Advanced demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel and tax and payroll systems and how they operate.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use upmost discretion when accessing sensitive information.
• Able to meet and exceed strict deadlines while handling high volume of clients.

• This position has a salary range of $25.00 - $31.25 per hour. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location.
