Payroll Specialist
THE POSITION
Under the general direction of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Specialist performs a variety of procedures to ensure that the 1,000+ employees (student and permanent) of the College are paid accurately and on time. Managing the entry of time/hours, providing quality reviews of data to identify and eliminate errors, responding to inquiries from employees, providing relevant reports to the Payroll Manager and other executives, and organizing and maintaining the associated files are key aspects of the job. The College is working toward updating its HR/payroll procedures and automating certain timekeeping and payroll-related functions on campus so the successful Payroll Specialist candidate will be energized by the prospect of those changes, will be helpful in determining and implementing them, and will have a skill set that can adapt to the changes in the role that will occur over the next few years.
