Role Overview


Looking for a strategic leader responsible for overseeing and directing data-driven strategies and initiatives that impact the performance of CPG companies. The role typically involves managing teams of analysts, leveraging data to drive business insights, and shaping the overall analytical approach to improve decision-making across various departments such as marketing, sales, product development, and supply chain.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of data strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Establish best practices for data collection, quality, and reporting across various functions.
  • Ensure data governance and compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Drive insights from consumer, market, and sales data to inform business strategies and decisions.
  • Create and manage dashboards, reports, and analytics tools for key stakeholders.
  • Provide insights into consumer behavior, market trends, and product performance to guide marketing and sales efforts.
  • Work closely with marketing, product development, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure data insights are actionable and integrated into strategic decision-making.
  • Influence key strategic decisions around product development, pricing, and distribution through data analysis.
  • Lead efforts in analyzing consumer demographics, behavior, and preferences to create actionable market segments.
  • Identify emerging trends, preferences, and opportunities for new products or brand innovations.
  • Analyze sales performance across channels and geographies to optimize promotional strategies, pricing, and sales efforts.
  • Measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, identifying opportunities to improve return on investment (ROI).
  • Utilize advanced analytics, including machine learning, to predict future trends, consumer behavior, and sales performance.
  • Develop forecasting models that inform inventory management, demand planning, and resource allocation.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, providing guidance, development, and career growth opportunities.
  • Promote a data-driven culture within the organization, ensuring that analytics are incorporated into everyday decision-making.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and other business metrics to evaluate and optimize the performance of products and campaigns.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes based on data insights and results.


Qualifications
  • 7–10 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or data strategy roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, statistical techniques, and software tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, R, Python, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Deep understanding of the CPG sector, including market dynamics, consumer behavior, and supply chain logistics.
  • Experience in managing and developing teams of data professionals.
  • Ability to translate data insights into strategic actions that align with business objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to present data insights clearly and influence key stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize initiatives, and manage timelines effectively.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field is typically preferred.
  • MBA or Master’s degree in a related field can be advantageous.
  • Specialized certifications in data science, analytics, or project management (e.g., Google Data Analytics, Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)) are often a plus.
