The Center for Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, & Nutrition Innovation (GENI), a joint entity within Emory University School of Medicine and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, invites applications for a tenure-potential position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level, researching the broad role of metabolic health on well-being in children (MD and/or PhD required).

Areas of particular interest include addressing obesity, early risk stratification and identification of noninvasive markers and therapeutic targets, novel molecular and clinical diagnostics, workable interventions in childhood with a focus on socioeconomically disadvantaged populations, fatty liver disease, type 2 diabetes, and a variety of important disorders in gastroenterology, hepatology, and/or endocrinology where metabolites play a significant role in pathophysiology and outcomes. Approaches that capitalize on translational research, pediatric technologies, animal models, pediatrician/community engagement, and bioinformatics such as metabolomics, lipidomics, and genomics are encouraged. The candidate will be expected to develop an innovative, externally funded research program, as well as engage in cross-disciplinary initiatives.

Faculty appointment will be in the Department of Pediatrics within Emory University School of Medicine. We offer a highly interactive collegial research environment with state-of-the-art facilities, as well as proximity to and collaborations with Georgia Institute of Technology, Morehouse School of Medicine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Emory Global Health Institute, and Emory University Rollins School of Public Health.
