The Azure Cloud Engineer will be a member of the U.S. Department of State (DOS) Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA) Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program. CAEIO provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting CA services globally.The Azure Cloud Engineer is a member of the Engineering team that provides a broad range of services, including configuration design and implementation across the CA IT infrastructure, as well as capacity and performance management. The team develops Digital Transformation efforts to support applications, enterprise monitoring tools support, Redundancy and DR solutions, and Cloud solutions. The team ensures close integration with the modernization teams within CA and other DOS teams. Additionally, they coordinate with all CAEIO Service teams to communicate requirements and provide Engineering support for production issues, network or system upgrades, new capabilities, and advancements in the selection of emerging hardware and software.Responsibilities• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise Azure Cloud capabilities in Microsoft Azure Government and Microsoft Azure Commercial to include:• Infrastructure - Network, Compute, and Storage• Cloud Management, Monitoring and Security• Identity Management integrated with Okta• Cost and Resource Management within Azure• Support the development of Azure capabilities that meet Application and Database requirements for Disaster Recovery of domestic and overseas systems.• Collaborate with CAEIO's Engineering, Operations, and Security teams to develop solutions that align with Federal and DOS security guidelines.• Support the development of automation within Azure.• Support Transition to Operations activities to include training Operational personnel to manage Azure services and integration with Monitoring.Location: Must be local to the Washington, D.C., and Virginia area. This position is hybrid with remote work and up to two days per week in the office in Sterling, VA or Washington, DC.Core Work Schedule: First Shift (Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM ET)QualificationsRequired Qualifications• U.S. citizenship and active SECRET Government Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.• At least two years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and sustaining Azure solutions.• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development and deployment.• Experience working in an Agile development environment and following Scrum methodologies.• Strong understanding of modern DevOps practices, including automation, continuous delivery, continuous deployment, and continuous integration methodologies.• Experience in FedRAMP approved MAC and/or MAG environments.• Ability to problem-solve individually or with team members.• Experience with customer facing efforts.Preferred Qualifications• Four or more years hands-on experience with production Azure environments.• Experience deploying Oracle/SQL databases and DDVE to Azure.• Advanced Azure Technical Certifications.• Experience at Department of State.Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum 16 years with HS diploma. Minimum 14 years with AS degree. Minimum 12 years with BS/BA. Minimum 10 years with MS/MA. Minimum 7 years with Ph.D.Target Salary Range$135,000 - $216,000.
