Thank you.Description OverviewAs the Environmental & Sustainability Engineer, you will be responsible for environmental compliance for Perrigo Nutrition Network. You will develop standards, programs and policies to support regulatory compliance, complete environmental performance and gap analyses, prepare environmental compliance plans for new technologies and/or permits, establish and monitor metrics, and facilitate implementation of Perrigo environmental standards. You will provide guidance and build effective relationships with internal and external partners, including government entities, contractors, consultants, design, construction, operations and other key stakeholders.Scope of the Role• Manages facility related environmental and sustainability projects, provides troubleshooting capability, and develops and reviews appropriate procedures and standards. Completes project functions within agreed upon time frames and on budget to ensure operations are efficiently maintained, and completes technical functions, ensuring timely turnaround.• Coordinates support staff and contracted resources to assure network expectations are met. Provides direction for all applicable maintenance activities, and interfaces with department managers and supervisors to remove roadblocks. Investigates and resolves system problems impacting plant reliability or efficiency.• Provides system and component design that reduces negative impact on the environment.• Conduct research and technical audits on environmental impact of projects and site changes to investigate data and performing quality control checks.• Serves as a technical advisor on environmental policies and standards to ensure regulatory applicability, and function as a leader regarding regulatory agency interactions, permit evaluations and processing, and new process and technology introduction.• Provide systems technical evaluations, integrate latest technologies into systems, and address problems and develop environmental solutions to prevent damage.• Monitor progress and provide recommendations reports, while documenting plans, requirements, protocols, permits and standard operating procedures.• Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective action.• Conduct and manage industrial hygiene activities throughout the sites, such as hearing conservation, lab fume hoods and other ventilation velocity requirements, inbuilding air monitoring and sampling, and other site specific IH needs.Experience Required• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related scientific field.• Ability to write technical reports and to develop data gathering schedules• Three to five years of experience in managing capital projects and trouble- shooting industrial situations, with two to three years of food manufacturing experience.• Ability to build effective working relationships which foster integrity, trust and respect. Ability to build relationships and engage all levels within the organization and with external constituencies.• Demonstrated self-confidence, and ability to manage consultants, and contractors, while interfacing with multiple departments, working with site resources to manage projects, policy and procedures.• Strong logical and problem solving skills, and excellent interpersonal skills, including good oral and written communication skills, and previous experience using computers.• Ability to handle and resolve conflicts and maintain confidentiality.• Ability to evaluate existing system and collect data on buildings operations, equipment, time of day schedule, demand load and water use in an effort to reduce the consumption of electricity, natural gas and water in incremental stages.• Strong project management skills and the ability to contribute to strategic judgements, while driving detailed implementation plans with defined performance milestones or metrics• Ability and readiness to travel up to 50% domestically.External applicants please note: To apply to this position please click the APPLY button at the bottom of the application.
