What you will do

The DEI Program Manager is part of the PGIM Diversity, Equity & Inclusion group, reporting to PGIM Chief Diversity officer and will have oversight for a portfolio of Early Talent Programs and external partnerships that engage and inspire individuals from underrepresented backgrounds to pursue internship and entry-level careers at PGIM. You will also support the Head of HBCU Strategic Investment Advisory and DEI Investment Portfolio who is charged with advancing PGIM’s efforts to draw more HBCU students into the investment profession, to support the stewards of the HBCU endowments and to build a scholarship program designed to increase education affordability at HBCU. This also includes support of the Prudential DEI Portfolio, a program intended to support the expansion of the universe of asset management firms owned and operated by ethnically diverse and women managers.

This position can be performed remotely or/ in a hybrid setting in office in Newark, NJ. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

What you can expect

As the PGIM DEI Early Talent Program Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating virtual and in-person intern and analyst recruiting events partnering with DEI specific organizations such as Girls Who Invest and Seizing Every Opportunity.

  • Tracking and managing high potential DEI intern and analyst candidates throughout the recruiting process.

  • Working closely with the Prudential Campus Recruiters to ensure an equitable recruiting process.

  • Developing and maintaining DEI programming for current summer interns through the lens of retention, development, and community building.

  • Overseeing the planning and execution of The Ron Andrews Diversity Scholarship Awards Ceremony – A scholarship program that provides equitable pathways into the asset management industry by providing incoming interns who identify as Black, Latinx/Hispanic, Indigenous, LGBTQ+, API, Veteran, a first-generation college student, and/or a student with a disability, a chance to compete for a $10,000 scholarship.

  • Providing project management support for the existing portfolio of Early Talent Programs and external diversity partnerships.

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the on-going success of DEI Early Talent Programs at PGIM.

  • Partnering with key stakeholders to create a multi-pronged marketing and communication strategy to promote DEI achievements, programs, and accolades.

  • Providing logistical support for external/virtual conferences where PGIM DEI and PGIM leaders will play an active role.

In support of the Head of HBCU Strategic Investment Advisory and DEI Investment Portfolio, you will be responsible for:

  • Working directly with HBCU students in support of select student-run investment funds intended to provide them real-world investing experience, support, and training. The objective of these funds is to increase student participation in asset management course work and to increase their awareness of the industry as a potential career destination.

  • Coordinating appropriate donations of funds to HBCU’s.

  • Coordinating PGIM employee engagement (speaker series, training, etc) to support success of students.

  • Partnering with PGIM DEI Recruiting Team and Prudential Talent organization to advance recruiting efforts aimed at attracting black talent.

  • Monitoring and managing inbound inquiries from ethnically diverse and women managers about the Prudential DEI Investment Portfolio, filtering those appropriate for consideration by Prudential’s General Account.

  • Experience working with colleges and universities.

  • Experience and familiarity with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion topics and activities.

  • Experience managing and executing complex projects.

  • Attention to detail and insistence on high quality outputs.

  • Good judgement and strong organization skills, while working under tight deadlines.

  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Comfort regularly interfacing with senior executives, colleagues across the firm and external partner organizations.

  • Experience working with and analyzing data, tracking ROI.

  • Willingness to work within and contribute to a high functioning team.

  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.

  • Competence using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Positive attitude consistent with our company culture.

Note : Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $115,000 to $145,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
