Pharmaceutical Maintenance Technician Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare for production through use of production schedule, studying requirements, clarifying specifications as necessary, calculating calibrations, weighing components, assembling materials and stocking supplies.
- Perform sterilization and maintenance checks including cleaning out-of-place (COP), cleaning in-place (CIP) and servicing in-place (SIP).
- Monitor operation equipment conditions and adjust as needed to comply with production requirements.
- Adhere to filing and filtering procedures while calculating dilutions, concentrations, and yields.
- Adhere to cGMP or current good manufacturing practices, standard operating methods, and legal regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Maintain equipment operation through responsive troubleshooting, repairs, and following operations guidelines.
- Document all production efforts in appropriate logs, forms, reports, and databases.
- Keep job knowledge current with professional training opportunities.
- Enhance organizational reputation by striving to meet and exceed performance expectations.
- You will perform daily checks and maintenance on facility equipment and systems, while following cGMP standards and corporate safety policies.
- Principal responsibilities include the operation and maintenance of plant utility systems under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor in a rotating shift environment.
- Perform corrective maintenance and routine preventative maintenance on facilities equipment following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Complete work orders, logs and forms following cGMP documentation practices.
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of plant equipment, including high pressure steam boilers; chillers; heating/cooling air handling units; process waste treatment systems; CIP equipment; water purification system (water softening and carbon bed filtration, reverse osmosis equipment, deionization equipment, sanitary pumps, multi-effect distillation equipment); tank mixers; air compressors and dryers; and chilled water distribution systems.
- Specify and complete vendor search for electrical, mechanical, and piping materials to fabricate and install modifications and complete repairs on equipment; provide maintenance services and technical assistance to all departments.
- Respond to service calls and conducts repairs throughout the facility.
- You will operate independently while performing routine maintenance and receive minimal instruction on new assignments.
