Founded in 2015, Phil is a San Francisco-based, Series D health-tech startup that is building a platform that interfaces between doctors, pharmacies, and patients to streamline the process of patients receiving prescriptions. This is a complex, archaic industry, and we've set out to change that. 

Phil’s B2B2C platform provides an end-to-end prescription management and delivery service. Our robust platform connects patients, prescribers, pharmacies, and manufacturers, enabling easy and affordable access to medicine. Through its digital stakeholder experiences, patient access services, market access solutions, and distribution models, pharma manufacturers can deliver affordable and timely therapy access to patients, resulting in more patients staying on their treatment plans longer. Consequently, pharma manufacturers are enabled for more innovation.

Position Overview

As the FP&A Associate, you will be one of the earliest hires to our Finance Team. Phil is seeking a talented and experienced individual, with strong preference for a background in investment banking, private equity, and/or corporate finance at a premier VC/PE-backed company.

This role will focus on tackling Phil’s most pressing financial challenges and maturing our finance infrastructure. Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance, you will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Strategic Finance, and various Business partners to drive our financial planning and analysis processes for annual and long range planning. Additionally, the candidate will influence critical decision making across the company by developing financial and operational reporting/metrics. This candidate will regularly work on projects that have frequent exposure to Executives (including CEO, CFO).

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Modeling: Maintaining and improving the company’s short term and long term financial models

  2. Key Financial Metrics: Establishing metrics and reporting processes for internal / external stakeholders

  3. Management Reporting: Support the creation and aggregation of materials for executives and Board presentations

  4. Partnership: work across functions and finance stakeholders to drive analysis and reporting across the organization

  5. Process Design & Improvement: Support the design of new processes to improve the quality and productivity of the finance team and business in general

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 3 years of progressive experience in investment banking, private equity, and / or corporate / strategic finance. Slight preference toward experience within the healthcare / health-tech sector

  • Deep understanding of financial reporting and P&L management

  • Experience preparing and presenting information to key decision-makers

  • Strong communication (verbal and written), presentation, and relationship-building skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Google Docs / Sheets / Slides

  • Collaborative working style and demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional relationships

  • Willingness to embrace unstructured environments and problems

  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn the FP&A skillset and the health-tech industry
