This position is responsible for tprehe paration, processing, audit and reporting of monthly and quarterly accruals in the accounting system. This position is also responsible for general ledger entries relating to PIMCO Global Offices. Main responsibilities include accounting for complex and industry-specialized transactions.LocationNewport Beach, CAKey Responsibilities• Obtain data from various sources on a monthly and quarterly basis to update journal entries, accruals and amortizations, and load them into the general ledger• Analyze journal entries in multiple foreign currencies generated by 3rd party bookkeeping firms, communicate any issues, and monitor resolution• Perform financials statement analysis, including month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year variance analysis, and provide explanations• Prepare monthly account reconciliations to detail records or sub-ledgers• Utilize detail reconciliations to proactively monitor pending items, perform follow-up as necessary, identify issues and make corrections• Involvement with automation projects, including data clean up, data preparation, testing and documentation• Prepare and provide requested support documentation to internal and external auditors• Assist team members as well as offshore internal/external accountants as needed• Willingness to learn new tools, including coding languages, and to work on ad-hoc projects as neededQualifications• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related discipline• Minimum of five years of corporate accounting experience• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel skills and using Pivot tables, VLOOKUP and higher level functions• Prior experience with large ERP (financial system) such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft; experience with SAP is preferred• Strong understanding and experience using Accounting Principles knowledge• Prior work experience with intercompany and/or multicurrency transactions is preferred• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to effectively and autonomously problem solve• Exhibit attention to detail and proactively seek clarification or assistance when unable to resolve issues independently within a reasonable timeframe• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage professionally and succinctly with all levels across the firm• Strong commitment to providing quality work and ensure work is delivered completely, accurately and timely• Able to respond effectively to inquiries from various levels of management and maintain good working relationships with internal and external contacts• Strong sense of urgency and able to organize and prioritize; including handling multiple tasks with strict deadlines• Ability to collaborate and contribute in a team environment as well as independently to accomplish business objectives• Committed to PIMCOs values: Collaboration, Openness, Responsibility and Excellence that allow us to bring the best to our clients and each otherProfessional Skills Requirements• Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities• Ability to deliver on assigned responsibilities with attention to detail, and use of effective interpersonal and communication skills• Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities, manage deadlines, and support initiatives in fast-paced environment• Adaptable to learn new processes, concepts, and skills• Proactive with process improvement and able to embrace change and new technologyPIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
