Our Personal Lines State Management team is currently seeking a Data Analyst in Worcester, MA or Howell, MI.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

This is a full time, exempt role.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Applies analytical skills to the development and enhancement of unique proprietary business tools that drive the optimization and consolidation of Agent partners business and are a strategic differentiator to the unique Hanover business model. Develops tools, processes and reporting analytics in support of business growth. Communicate with customers, external partners and internal departments while effectively leading complex analytics projects.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
  • Support complex business/technical processes and tools for multiple products, requiring the use of technical solutions across multiple departments or lines of business.
  • Serve as a team member on projects of large scope and moderate to high complexity providing data analytics and project management.
  • Work independently and leverages resources when needed.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of multiple technical business systems enterprise wide.
  • Apply understanding of business processes and the P&C Insurance business to translate requirements into analytical reporting and evolve models to meet new and changing business requirements.
  • Develop visually appealing, detailed reports to support strategic business initiatives.
  • Summarize information and effectively communicate analyses in writing and verbally to internal partners. Ability to draw insights and observations from detailed and multifaceted data and reports.
  • Work in partnership with team and management to generate innovative solutions by approaching problems with curiosity and open-mindedness, using existing information to its fullest potential.
  • Provide technical coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members, including the usage of best practices.
  • Proactively research and apply Best Practices to technology solutions.
  • Work with business partners to define tools to align with business priorities and assess impact on other business processes.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 to 5+ years of related analytical experience required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of Property and Casualty industry experience.
  • Demonstrated data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, proficient in SQL, experience creating and developing Power BI reports.
  • Comfortable turning raw data into meaningful information.
  • Ability to summarize complex business concepts into written & oral communications using PowerPoint and other data presentation tools.
  • Strong project management skills, ability to manage and prioritize varied priorities under aggressive timelines.
