About the Role


We’re looking for an experienced and highly driven Strategic Sales professional to identify and execute on expansion opportunities for Planful’s existing customers base through upsells, cross-sells, and renewals. 


The Strategic Sales Manager is an integral part of Planful’s Customer team and will partner closely with Renewals Managers, the Customer Success team, and senior leadership to ensure the long-term success of customers and will be instrumental in increasing the total ARR investment over time. Experience in a quota-carrying role and success in working with internal and external stakeholders is a must.


Responsibilities


Proactively identify, manage, and successfully close expansion opportunities, including upsells and cross-sells before and during the renewal process 


  • Proactively reach out with insight-driven content
  • Consistently exceed quarterly and annual quotas and retention goals
  • Schedule meetings with key client stakeholders
  • Assist sales and marketing to identify clients willing to assist in references and marketing events 
  • Communicating the value of our product to customers and addressing any concerns or objections they may have
  • Negotiating pricing and contract terms with customers
  • Tracking and reporting on sales metrics, such as revenue and pipeline growth
  • Identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell additional products or services to customers
  • Develop relationships with other stakeholders to ensure that you are aware of all the key players involved in the decision-making process.

 

What you Bring to the Table


  • 2+ years successful track record of sales in the enterprise software or software-as-a-service market selling into an established client base
  • Track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy for customers
  • Strong and effective communication skills
  • Proven track record of building relationship at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment while juggling multiple responsibilities
  • High level of intellectual curiosity -- you see opportunity and growth in learning more about what you do and how it impacts others
  • Results-oriented sales professional
  • Ability to learn quickly and to adapt easily to change
  • Experience with all Microsoft Office applications
  • Domain knowledge of Finance/FP&A space is a plus
  • Customer focused with the ability to adapt 
  • Strong work ethic and critical thinking and problem solving skills 
  • Highly accountable while presenting strong sense of urgency
  • Flexible and adaptive

Pay Transparency Statement


At Planful our top priority is to support our employees and ensure each individual has access to equal growth opportunities. Pay decisions take into consideration the individual's skillset, experience, knowledge, qualifications for the role, and specific work location.
