Plant Manager

Position Summary

Provide leadership and coaching to develop a high performing team focused on achieving the objective of being the low-cost producer of over-the-counter pharmaceutical, liquid fill products through Lean Manufacturing practices, continuous improvement initiatives, safety management processes, quality management processes and facility cultural initiatives and by providing our internal customers the tools necessary to exceed our external customers’ expectations.

The Plant Manager must be able to create a positive culture within the manufacturing facility. Responsibilities will include production, maintenance, engineering, HSES and quality activities with the ability to function in a matrix organization. Included will be the management responsibility of the operations leadership team.

Essential Functions

Responsible for meeting operations budgetary goals in productivity, labor, and spending.

Responsible for maintaining a healthy pipeline of initiatives to improve productivity, quality, safety and sustainability to reduce costs and carbon footprint and support the company’s targets.

Develops staffing plans to meet demand and optimize equipment, process, and teammate efficiency.

Monitors organizational and individual performance and gives developmental feedback, creates development plans and ensures accountability to our policies and company values.

Actively support, participate, communicate and deploy all continuous performance activities.

Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for plant leadership.

Leads and/or supports our various reward, recognition and engagement activities such as surveys, engagement plans, company recognition tools, culture team activities, etc.

Responsible for ensuring plant is always FDA/cGMP and OSHA compliant and audit ready.

Ensures that effective communication lines are established amongst all departments and teammates.

Works with plant leaders and teammates to coordinate an overall strategy of continuous improvement with emphasis on process improvement.

Supports teamwork and promotes and practices the company’s values and behaviors.

Must demonstrate ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and work collaboratively with cross functional groups

Must possess the ability to take sound decisive action while effectively weighing risks

Inspire accountability for results (safety, quality, efficiency/cost, and timely shipments) and support developing individuals to assume greater responsibility and personal contribution.

Create a culture of continuous improvement where all team members are empowered to effect change. Be a champion of the company values and behaviors.

Establish, in cooperation with department heads, annual budgets and objectives for the plant.

In collaboration with other functional areas, develop, fine-tune, and implementing the strategic plan to support the business growth.

Perform any additional job-related duties as requested.

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or relevant discipline is required. A post graduate degree in engineering or MBA is desirable.

Minimum of five years’ experience in managing plant operations with budget and people management responsibilities.

Advanced knowledge in SAP, Microsoft Office, and Quality Tracking Management System (EQMS, TrackWise or similar)

Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement knowledge and implementation experience.

Experience and understanding of cGMP regulations in OTC products or prescription drug products.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience with liquid compounding and batching, liquid fill production

Inventory and raw material management experience desired.

Core competencies of continuous performance, team leadership, change management, strategic thinking, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvements/Lean and developing the organization.

Advanced knowledge in principles of manufacturing and technical understanding of mechanical concepts.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Basic knowledge in ERP system desired

Working Relationships

Edgewell teammates, contractors, and regulatory agencies

Position is based in Ormond Beach, FL

Work Environment

Some travel may be required

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment

Work schedule is projected to be typical business hours, but work will be required on night shifts and weekends to support business needs.

Exposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment

Must be detailed oriented

Will work in some areas with ambient temperature environments

The salary range for this position is $128,000 - $192,000. Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
