Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Junior .NET Developer for a temporary 3.5-month contract to assist with our EDI integrations and coordinate the creation of MARC records through our record vendor. The ideal candidate will work closely with our Customer Experience (CX) team and library customers to onboard and support their EDI systems for ordering our products.

EDI Integration:

  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot .NET applications related to EDI integrations.
  • Ensure seamless data exchange between Playaway Products and library systems.
  • Assist in mapping and transforming EDI transactions using standards like X12 or EDIFACT.

MARC Records Coordination:

  • Collaborate with Backstage to facilitate the creation and delivery of MARC records.
  • Verify the accuracy and integrity of MARC records provided to customers.
  • Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to MARC records.

Customer Onboarding and Support:

  • Work closely with the CX team to onboard library customers onto our EDI systems.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers during the integration process.
  • Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to explain complex concepts.

Team Collaboration:

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning.
  • Document processes, configurations, and create training materials as needed.
  • Support internal teams by providing insights and technical expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in .NET framework and C# programming language.
  • Basic understanding of EDI standards and protocols (e.g., X12, EDIFACT).
  • Familiarity with SQL databases and data manipulation.
  • Experience with APIs and web services is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MARC records and library cataloging systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Customer service-oriented with a focus on building strong relationships.
