Position Overview
The Senior Corporate Counsel for SaaS Product will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support and strategic guidance on all aspects of the company's Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings. This role involves working closely with various departments including Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure compliance with legal regulations, manage risks, and support the growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Product Legal Support:
Advise on legal issues related to the development, marketing, and sales of SaaS products.
Review and provide input on product features and functionalities from a legal and compliance perspective.
Draft and negotiate SaaS agreements, including service level agreements (SLAs), end-user license agreements (EULAs), and terms of service (TOS).
Compliance and Regulatory:
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Develop and maintain compliance programs and policies related to SaaS products.
Monitor changes in regulations and advise on necessary adjustments to business practices.
Intellectual Property:
Manage and protect the company's intellectual property portfolio related to SaaS productsConduct IP risk assessments and provide guidance on mitigating IP risks.
Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with SaaS products.
Advise on incident response and data breach management.
Work with cross-functional teams to conduct risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Transactional Support:
Support sales and procurement teams with contract negotiations and deal structuring.
Assist in M&A activities as they pertain to SaaS products, including due diligence and integration.
General Corporate Matters:
Provide legal support on general corporate matters, including corporate governance and compliance.
Assist with the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from an accredited institution. A Master’s degree in Law (LLM) or relevant certifications is preferred.
Licensure:
Admission to the Bar Council of India.
