Job Description
Point of Rental is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead our market and product strategy of our US portfolio of Rental Management Solutions . Named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies in America in nine of the last twelve years, Point of Rental Software provides smart, scalable rental and inventory management software to over 4,800 business locations of all sizes and industries.
This role requires extensive experience with SaaS software in a B2B environment, ideally within industries of similar complexity, such as Accounting/ERP, Inventory Management, Manufacturing and Maintenance, or eCommerce/Payments.
Our Senior Product Managers play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy and execution of product offerings. They are responsible for identifying market needs, defining solutions, and driving product development. This role combines high-level strategy with hands-on tactical execution, and it involves managing and influencing direct reports and other product managers.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
Own the product vision, roadmap, and positioning:
  • Gather and analyze data to develop and validate theses for new features, curating and prioritizing ideas for delivery.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify and meet customer needs through new products or features.
  • Communicate the product vision to internal and external stakeholders to gain alignment and buy-in.
  • Define product requirements for the development teams to bring new solutions to market or enhance existing ones.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Designers, and Product Owners on requirements, mockups, and user validation for potential solutions.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to identify issues, implement fixes, and ensure product improvements.
  • Gather and leverage customer feedback, including Beta testing, to continuously refine and enhance the product.
  • Coordinate with teams to manage product launches, including release notes and training materials for both internal and external users.
  • Track product performance across revenue, profitability, customer satisfaction, and attrition to identify areas for improvement.
Management & Leadership
  • Lead and mentor other product managers, providing guidance on best practices in product development and strategy execution.
  • Oversee the performance and development of the product management team, ensuring alignment with company goals and product vision.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, facilitating cross-functional brainstorming and stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven experience defining product strategy within a SaaS software company, with a metrics-driven development approach.
  • Ability to craft product specifications, user personas, and minimum viable product (MVP) concepts.
  • Strong strategic thinking: able to evaluate numerous ideas, validate them in the market, and focus on the highest-return opportunities.
  • Demonstrated business acumen: capable of taking a thesis, validating it in the market, assessing return on investment (ROI), and championing strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical skills: experience collecting and processing market data from multiple sources (e.g., CRM, industry events, analytics tools, interviews, surveys) to drive product enhancements.
  • Exceptional communication skills: articulate both technical and non-technical concepts, and effectively communicate product vision and roadmap to internal teams, customers, and sales prospects.
  • Strong leadership capabilities: able to lead with influence, foster team collaboration, and drive alignment with key stakeholders.

 

Location: Remote/Hybrid

The Product Team at Point of Rental operates primarily remotely, with opportunities for hybrid work at our Dallas/Ft. Worth office. We use the office for collaboration and workshops, but most of our team works remotely. Preference will be given to Texas residents, though non-local team members must travel to Dallas/Ft. Worth at least once per quarter.

 

Job Type: Full-Time, exempt with base salary, health benefits, and 401k matching.

Pay Transparency: The base pay range for this position is $190,000 to $200,000 per year. The actual base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, experience, and training, skills, licenses and certifications, and education among other factors.
