Politics Reporter

POLITICO is seeking a high-energy reporter to join our Politics team, covering state and national politics. The job requires deep knowledge and sourcing on the national political scene, familiarity with political developments in key states, and the ability to see emerging political trends before anyone else. A love of politics is a must; command of the political landscape and the forces shaping it — including demographics, presidential politics, fundraising, polling, advertising, social media and internal party dynamics — is a necessity. We’re looking for a tenacious reporter who knows how to work a beat and break news, but also has the analytical and storytelling skills to lead the pack.

What You’ll Need:

  • Familiarity with state and national politics, Congress and campaigns
  • A track record of clean, clear, authoritative writing
  • Ability to break news and work on deadline while also pursuing enterprise stories
  • Collaborative spirit to work as part of a team

We are driven by our values. We are relentless contributors, disruptors of the status quo, collaborators, talent cultivators and DEI stewards. Our culture is defined by grit, total integrity and a prioritization on innovation.

We value our people. We offer a competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package, including health and wellness benefits, commuter and cell phone reimbursements, retirement plans, as well as work-life balance flexibility and opportunities for career development.
