Presentation Specialist

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is a leading international law firm with more than 900 lawyers in offices throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. We are currently seeking a Presentation Specialist, in the Marketing department, reporting to the Senior Marketing & Brand Manager.

The role can reside in the Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco or Washington, DC office with hybrid work capabilities and will be responsible for supporting the development of key firm presentations, including but not limited to pitches, proposals, internal and external speaking engagement presentations and other materials designed in PowerPoint, while adhering to the firm’s brand guidelines and leveraging existing resources and templates. This role may deliver presentation design support to internal departments such as marketing, HR, recruiting, DEI etc, as well as directly to lawyers.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

• Prepare dynamic PowerPoint pitches/proposals, presentations and other materials utilizing existing templates and brand assets.
• Meet and manage rush deadlines as well as long-term deadlines.
• Maintain the firm’s brand and style guidelines when creating materials.
• Revise PowerPoints to include consistent formatting and comply with copy standards.
• Creatively conceive and illustrate complex ideas, visions, and strategies through PowerPoint.
• Resolve issues with imagery and logos.
• Clarify confusing layouts and ineffective design elements.
• Develop related assets such as timelines, infographics, diagrams, charts and custom graphics.
• Format and refine headshots.
• Manage files and design assets.
• Collaborate with business development, creative services and legal teams on projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications/journalism, or a related field
• Two to five years of experience in a presentation/graphic design role in a business setting
• Highly organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive projects
• Ability to translate text into compelling visual designs
• Excellent communication skills, in particular the ability to communicate design options and limitation effectively with stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and with a collaborative team
• Strong attention to detail
• Expertise with PowerPoint, including templates, master slides, animation, graphics, text and layout
• Facility with other software (e.g., Word and Excel, Photoshop and InDesign)

The base salary range for this position in California and New York is $70,000 to $85,000. Additional information about benefits and rewards can be found here.
