What does a great Cloud Architect do?

The Architecture organization works as a centralized technology strategy group focused on developing, standardizing, and transferring technology into Travelport’s product and services for travel suppliers and travel management companies. As part of that charter, we develop cloud services frameworks and ways of working to govern new development efforts, as well as support migration and transformation of legacy applications into performant, cost-effective cloud services.

As Travelport modernizes the way it builds, deploys, and scales its application services in the cloud and in its data centers, the Architecture organization is looking for additional architects with experience in building Kubernetes-based cloud models for high volume transactional businesses, with experience in AWS preferred. In addition, we’re looking for creative thinkers that are looking to apply new approaches and technologies to production solutions while helping retool and upgrade Travelport’s existing services for efficient cloud operation.

Responsibilities include:

• Working with Travelport development programs to assess needs and requirements
• Develop an EKS-based cloud services framework managed by Terraform/Terragrunt
• Architectural design of orchestration approaches, CI/CD frameworks
• Working with Travelport operations, transport, and security organizations to integrate with legacy applications and address common services infrastructures/needs

Who we are looking for in this role:

• Experience orchestrating applications in Kubernetes
• Experience deploying production applications to AWS or other cloud platform
• Experience in transforming legacy applications into cloud services
• Experience in Infrastructure-as-Code
• Experience selling the vision and managing upwards to engineering and product leadership

Salary Target: $130,000.00 - $200,000.00

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
