Principal Auditor

The Principal Auditor is responsible for providing internal audit services to the functional areas of CDPHP. These services include audit engagements, management consulting activities and risk assessment. The Principal Auditor will assist the Corporate Audit Manager (the Manager) and Corporate Audit Director (the Director) with the completion of the audit plan including planned audits and proactive advisory services provided to management. The Principal Auditor shall perform all of his/her duties in conformance with appropriate, generally accepted auditing standards and the CDPHP Corporate Audit Department Charter.

The purpose of audit engagements is to ensure the following:

  • All functions and activities of CDPHP are carried out in conformance with CDPHP policies and comply with established accounting requirements and regulatory requirements;
  • Related processes are effective to support the achievement of goals and objectives set by management, both operational and compliance related; and
  • Identification of opportunities to strengthen or improve operations and the overall control environment.
With the authority granted by the Corporate Audit Department Charter for unrestricted access to all personnel, files, data, records, equipment and activities of CDPHP, the Corporate Audit Principal shall perform his/her duties with decisive judgment, independence, objectivity, confidentiality and discreteness. Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Director, or the Chief Audit Executive (CAE) as required, the Principal Auditor shall perform all the duties expected of an internal auditor. Depending on the nature, scope, size and staffing of the audit engagement or management consulting activity, the Principal Auditor shall perform the following duties as required.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline with 24 hours of accounting required.
  • Professional designation, i.e., CIA, CPA or CISA highly preferred.
  • Six (6) years of audit experience in a medium-sized (100+ employees) or larger company or CPA firm required, of which two years of in-charge audit experience is required.
  • Effective verbal and written skills with ability to make inquiries of departmental staff and produce reports which exhibit appropriate grammar, context, clarity of message and audience aware is required.
  • Ability to perform testing and document workpapers in accordance with Auditing Standards to support conclusions is required.
  • Strong technical skills, including ability to problem solve and apply situational knowledge is required.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to learn, analyze, and summarize information in a short period of time is required.
  • History of developing audit findings and recommendations that are value based is required.
  • Demonstrated success working with auditees to achieve an improved control structure and more efficient operating environment is required.
  • Analytical skills to organize, test and interpret financial and operational data are required.
  • Effective communications with coworkers and management to ensure a successful team production environment is required.
  • Ability to review work of other audit staff and provide input to the Manager related to the auditor’s performance. Provide coaching and constructive feedback to the auditor regarding their performance and work with the Manager to set goals is required.
  • Organizational skills that ensure the delivery of effective results within established timelines is required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, Visio and Word is required. ACL experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of large volume computer processing systems required. Knowledge of report writer software preferred.
  • General knowledge of Healthcare processing and systems preferred.


Annual salary range: $85,000 - $100,000


CDPHP salary ranges are designed to be competitive with room for professional and financial growth. Individual compensation is based on several factors unique to each candidate, such as work experience, qualifications, and skills. In addition to cash compensation, CDPHP employees may be eligible for an incentive payment, a discretionary cash reward based on employee and company performance.
