What You'll DoAs a Health Underwriter you’ll medically underwrite applications submitted for case benefits and coverages under one of our group plans and convey our decisions to customers.Here are a few examples of the types of things you'll do:• Review and process evidence of insurability applications consistent with our company's policies and in compliance with various state statutes and legislation.• Communicate and convey the correct information to our policyholders, administrators and applicants by written correspondence and complete file setup.• Answer questions received via phone calls from internal and external customers regarding declination, status, etc.• Facilitate current and future underwriting evaluation through file documentation. Provide clear and understandable audit trail for future claims, service work and legal handling.• Cross Train and assist Group Underwriting on various tasks.• Perform other job-related duties as required including complete follow ups and close-outs in a timely manner.Who You Are• A minimum of two to three years of experience in a health underwriting related field, health related field, or experiece with group benefits insurance products and administration.• Must have excellent communication (written & verbal) and organizational skills.• Knowledge of PC and group systems required.• Medical terminology or claim processing preferred.• Extended periods at a desk, keyboarding, and PC exposure.Salary Range InformationSalary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)$18.39 - $35.19 / hourTime Off ProgramPersonal Time Off (PTO) is provided to hourly (non-exempt) employees and provides a set amount of accrued time earned each pay period.
