REPORTS TO: Operations Supervisor
LOCATION: Lebanon
GENERAL SCOPE:
The Capsule Operator prepares and blends batch formulations composed of liquid and powder ingredients to feed Capsule manufacturing equipment that meet all health and safety standards. This individual interacts with Planning, Quality Control, R&D, Shipping & Receiving, Maintenance, Management, Purchasing, Rabbis for Kosher approval, external Customers, Auditors, and MANE employees from France. Key competencies: Analytical Skills, Communication and Interpersonal Skills, Mathematical Skills including Weights and Conversions, and Computer Skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain strict adherence to equipment SOPs, GMP standards, food and flavor regulations (kosher), and documentation requirements at a flavor manufacturing facility.
Adhere to all safety protocols, including use of engineering controls and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe work place for all employees.
Retrieve, stage, accurately weigh, and document ingredients used in Capsule batches.
Prepare and blend batch formulations composed of liquid and powder ingredients to feed Capsule manufacturing equipment.
Operate Capsule equipment according to product manufacturing instructions to produce high quality product in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Utilize equipment and facility computer programs to effectively maintain process and material data related to manufacturing requirements.
Accurately weigh, package, label, and organize manufactured product to ensure effective shipping and stock management according to customer requirements.
Thoroughly clean, sanitize and organize workspaces and shared facility areas as directed to maintain an efficient and high-quality manufacturing operation and environment.
Must be willing to interact frequently with people for which English is a second language.
Actively participate in periodic training sessions to increase understanding of, and abilities related to, safety, quality, productivity, materials, and equipment operation.
Proactively monitor ingredient inventories to ensure availability to achieve production schedule and immediately communicate discrepancies to facility management and/or planning staff.
Complete and submit prescribed daily and/or weekly checklists of key facility equipment and utilities to ensure consistent and effective operation of manufacturing processes.
Provide support and guidance to other operators by accessing established operating protocols, coaching, and seeking direction from management or technical personnel.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to work with PLC/distributive computer controls.
Knowledge of basic mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
Flavor industry desired.
Computer literate.
