Procurement Specialist

Summary

The Procurement Specialist will provide support in the procurement, contractual and commercial to senior management and clients to maximize commercial performance and to ensure areas of contractual and commercial risk are identified and managed appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and select the most suitable vendors based on cost, quality, and delivery time.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to obtain the best pricing, quality, and service. Monitor supplier performance, resolve any issues or disputes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, including requisition processing, purchase order creation, order tracking, and receipt verification. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations.
  • Ensure the project management and their teams are aware of and comply with their contractual obligations and monitoring compliance with the contract.
  • Provide direct Contracts and Commercial support to Procurement Team Lead in the drafting and implementation of contract renewal, amendments, and commercial strategies, with a focus on effective management of risk and delivery of maximum return within existing contracts.
  • Work with the bid teams and lead the commercial responses both pricing and contractual elements for tenders. Manage and perform the review of contractual terms and conditions incl. their negotiation to ensure company liabilities and legal/contractual obligations are defined, communicated, and qualifications correctly incorporated into tender responses.
  • ·Ensuring where appropriate client, partner and subcontractor due diligence is undertaken.
  • Identify potential risks in the procurement and contracting process and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor market trends and changes in supplier conditions to proactively address any potential disruptions.
  • Ensure Procurement and Contracting activity is in full compliance with company requirements with respect to companies best practice guidelines, including Group DOA and RRC process.
  • Ensure periodic contract audits and reviews are undertaken.
  • Develop and sustain professional working relationships with clients and internal support functions.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Market knowledge of Gulf of Mexico decommissioning including well operations, and familiarity with industry terminology (Essential).
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office and proficient in Excel (Essential).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred and relevant certifications is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations (Preferred)

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet deadlines.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity in procurement practices.

Experience

  • Commercial contracts or procurement experience on Gulf of Mexico decommissioning projects.
  • Drafting and negotiating skills (terms and conditions and contract schedules).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $76,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

  • Day shift

  • Houston, TX 77084: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
