Job Description
Job Summary (General Responsibilities):
Responsible for management of the assigned product line, including the specific product mix, product families, and ongoing evaluation of products to be added, enhanced, refined, developed or eliminated. Develop support resources and training for sales, customers, manuals, and technical support. Ensure that the assigned product line/s is/are recognized as the best line by resellers and end users in the industry for value, quality, selection, innovation, features, reliability, and ease of use.
Responsibilities

Define and conduct primary and secondary research (direct customer contact and surveys, trade shows and journals, sales evaluations, monitoring competitors and industry trends, store visits and vendor insights) as necessary to gather and validate key product hypothesis. Collaborate with consumer insights team to guide market research and analyze results. Translate insight into new product ideas and category direction.

Build market intelligence on emerging products and solutions. Research and report competitive product launches, portfolio strategy, and SWOT. Build continuous relationships with vendor partners to gain understanding of their capabilities, new product and technology roadmaps, etc.

Build, validate, and champion short-, mid-, long-term category roadmaps (up to 3 years) to provide clear direction for new product introduction and product lifecycle management.

Prioritize, direct and ensure the creation of product value proposition and concept documents to assess global market needs, to identify gaps, and to develop relevant new consumer solutions. Develop concept specification and use cases for upcoming product based on product positioning, consumer insight, competitive offerings, cost implication, and other market dynamics.

Assist in channel specific or regional specific product requests by analyzing business case, differentiation with current Belkin portfolio, and utilization of existing or future products on category roadmap.

Assess business opportunity, including total addressable market size, Belkin opportunity size, financial opportunity, to build business case.

Manage NPI project kick-off meetings with cross-functional teams detailing product value proposition, key product use cases, features and requirements.

Partner with regional product managers to ensure that product launches and transitions are executed as defined.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute and launch products. Partner with product development team to ensure successful product development and launch.

Work with industrial designers, engineers, toolmakers, product development team, and other cross-functional teams to ensure success on product development and launch, deadlines, and financial targets.

Provide Marketing Department with sufficient information to develop product packaging, documentation, bulletins, and training material.

Conduct post-launch analysis of NPI projects to validate product value proposition success and recommend improvements based on market feedback and new competitive offerings.

Achieve sales and profitability goals of categories assigned.

Fulfill responsibilities under ISO 9001 and 14001; understand and fully support IS0 system.

Comply with Health and Safety requirements of Belkin.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Understand and follow company rules and regulations.

Perform all other duties as assigned and required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
-
Four-year college degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
-
3+ years similar or related work experience within computer, consumer electronics (CE), or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry

Strong analytical and quantitative skills – ability to source, refine, and use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes a plus

Proven experience in identifying/articulating/substantiating product ideas and developing mid- to long-term product strategies and roadmap

Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into business and product requirement a plus

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and cross functional leadership qualities

Able to manage multiple projects and priorities while delivering results quickly and with grit in an ambiguous environment

Range for this position:
$95,000 - $110,000
Factors such as geographic location, academic credentials, relevant experience, and specific knowledge, skills and abilities will influence the actual salary offered.
