POSITION SUMMARY | Product Owner

The Product Owner (PO) is responsible for eliciting and elaborating requirements that define the features and functions of software products. The PO will analyze client needs, industry trends, and competitor features to continually improve products, breaking down and prioritizing scope to ensure the product moves through the entire SDLC. They work with software engineers to ensure successful completion of the components and features. The PO works closely with the Product Managers focusing on release management to ensure the alignment with product strategy, product roadmap, and timely and accurate updating of all product documentation. The PO is excellent at understanding the true business needs of an industry for a particular product, the capabilities we can provide, and can communicate the "what and why" of the requirements from external or internal stakeholders to capture Business Requirements and identify changes. The PO is also detail-oriented and uses analytical techniques to elaborate more detailed Feature Requirements to capture the "how" for implementation, maximizing alignment with the capabilities of our Kingland Platform.

Product Owners are actively involved in the creation of the Elaboration Plan to produce their identified requirements, which includes the oversight and management of their assigned activities according to the plan. The PO will work with Quality Control (QC) Analysts to review QC test cases for requirement completeness. Additionally, the PO is responsible for validating (not testing) that the implementation of their requirements meets the intended business use for the product prior to release to a client environment (validation of business requirements). Under the direction of the Product Manager the PO focuses on specific business requirements and analysis needs for an industry product.
