Product Safety and Risk Leader

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Act as the market technical contact for Product safety and risk challenges. Engage and develop relationships with key stakeholders such as Product Management, Service Management and Technical Service teams

The review and assessment of P1 and P2 Product safety issues including the creation of a "Situation analysis" documentation pack and product assessment according to country specific legislative frameworks within the EMANZ countries impacted identified by the Liability Leader

Provide leadership to a cross functional team supporting the preparation, implementation and verification of product safety corrective actions ranging from product improvements to the recall of product from the market.
- Ownership of corrective action legislative activities including the drafting of recall documentation e.g. collation of sales/returns data by country and customer, Country specific authority notifications, customer and end user communications via direct email, SBD websites, social media platforms and in-store posters, supporting the Liability leader in the appropriate risk assessment documentation

Co-ordinate with the Liability Leader to ensure the appropriate elevation of product challenges through appropriate stakeholders and commissioning of external legal counsel when required.

Provide Technical support to the Liability Leader including insights into the product design, construction, compliance, application and operation.
- Lead Product Liability inspection activities providing fault finding and technical guidance and the recording the activity in a Technical report.

Work with the Customer Feedback team to identify individual product safety challenges or trends indicating a wider challenge.

Work directly with management and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships

Attendance on regular global quality, engineering and manufacturing zoom conference calls for product issues, reporting the regional portion of issues, opportunities and the appropriate data
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Demonstrates established analytical skills to identify product failures and understanding of appropriate corrective actions.
- Has a knowledge and is confident in the use and handling of SBD power and hand tool products

Strong Microsoft Office skills specifically Excel, with experience of Business critical systems including SAP and Windchill Product Management or demonstrates similar experience, ability to learn.

Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Have strong communication skills and able to convey information both verbally and via email to a global audience

You will have the ability to spearhead global programs, interacting and engaging with a wide variety of cultures and business units

Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, having the ability to work with and form market specific project teams to participate and deliver Global activities.

The candidate must be a committed team worker and bring a 'growth mindset' to the team

The successful candidate will require a highly developed soft skill set and a degree of cultural sensitivity - each and every project will entail working with a broad spread of cultures and nationalities and the successful candidate should relish the opportunity to head a number of global initiatives

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Science degree or equivalent

A knowledge and experience of product compliance and product safety frameworks is desirable
