Production Manager

Nexans High Voltage USA is hiring! We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to take over production operations for our brand new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. Nexans is a global leader in revewal energy and the design, development and installation of highly complex and technical high voltage land and subsea power cables. Production that has never been done in the United States!

Our production team is a 24/7, 4-shift operation and the prodcution manager oversees a team of production shift supervisors and area zone leaders.

The position:

Reports to Plant Manager
Member of the Charleston Plant Management team
Direct management of Production Line Manager and Zone Leaders

And has Key interfaces with:

Plant Manager
Human Resources
Plant Controller
Q and HSE team
Lean Champion
Technical team
Supply Chain team
Maintenance

Purpose

Ensure optimized use of human and industrial resources
Ensure LEAN principles are utilized throughout production
Ensure production capacity in accordance with forecast

Areas of responsibility

Manage production output according to Safety, Quality and Productivity

QHSE :

Actively promote appropriate safety behavior throughout the plant
Keep the production department aware of its environmental impact

Human Resources:

Promote strong performance, conduct and adherence to policies and procedures.
Promote behavior consistent with our Core Values
Enforce appropriate people management skills.
Support and participate in succession planning for production positions

Production :

Deploy Lean manufacturing throughout production
Analyze manufacturing variances (in term of CONQ, labor, material and energy)
Identify improvement opportunities
Work hand in hand with Quality and Process team to improve the way we work

Strategic Planning

Work with Plant Manager to strategically establish the production road map
Participate in budget planning and management for production

Expected results

Actively support Safety targets
Manufacturing Variance in accordance with budget (in term of CONQ, labor, material and energy)
Continuous Improvement mindset
Consistent production capacity according to forecast
Disciplined execution according to proper use of the production standards

Required skills and qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or other related discipline.
Experience from cable production preferred
Structured, analytical, orderly and methodical
Engineering background
Relevant experience with LEAN manufacturing methodology
SAP
Strong skills on MS Office (especially Excel)
Fluent in English
Strong communications skills
Demonstrated leadership skills
Strong team-player
Integrity and high ethical standards
