-Plastics: With new technology trends, our plastic additives can be experienced in many everyday items including vinyl, blow-molding bottles, film, rigid containers, PVC plastics, siding, decks and rails, foam pipes and profile formulations, window frames and high-efficiency lubricants.
- Industrial intermediates: As the product of a reaction that is beneficial when used as a precursor chemical for another product, industrial intermediates can take on many shapes and forms. Ours are used in home comfort and appliance, building and construction, adhesives and lubricants, and more.

Dow has an exciting opportunity available as Production Operator at the Croydon, PA site.
About You:
You can work under the immediate direction of the Activity Coordinator (in a team based environment) and must work in a safe manner following all safety rules and regulations. You must also work as a team member to improve safety culture, quality and production.
Also, you can complete the following tasks:
-
Demonstrate safe work behavior at all times
-
Read and follow operating instructions
-
Keep accurate written records
-
Monitor process and equipment using various control systems
-
Observe product quality and make required changes, and corrections with minimal supervision
-
Handle 50 LB containers of dry raw materials for addition to the process
-
Read and understand Instruments: Pressure, temperature and level gauges, controllers
-
Work with hazardous materials (flammables, corrosives, combustibles, toxics, etc)
-
Operate equipment including pumps, valves, walk-behind lift, labelers, printers
-
Change filters, remove and dispose of used filters
-
Operate and maintain a forklift in a safe and efficient manner
-
Perform light maintenance tasks as needed
-
Maintain orderly work and storage area
-
General housekeeping, sweeping, trash removal, water-blasting, painting, cleaning equipment
-
Respond to and take appropriate action for all plant emergencies
-
Possess good verbal and written communication skills in English
-
Maintain daily records and reports
-
Perform other duties as directed

Required Qualifications:
-
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
-
A minimum of 3 years experience in a chemical plant as a board/control operator or similar role.
-
Must be able to work a rotating shift. The shift will be 12 hour.
-
Some overtime would be required on an as needed basis.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
-
Must have a current, valid US driver’s license.
-
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Your preferred qualifications:
-
Associate’s degree or higher in relevant field and/or 4+ years military experience.
-
Fork truck or fork lift experience/certification.
The physical abilities, with or without reasonable accommodations, include:

Must be willing and able to work in such environments wearing safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.

Must be willing and able to wear a respirator.
