Program Coordinator

Brief Summary of Job Duties
Facilitating transfer students’ initial and continuous enrollment and registration success, providing comprehensive customer service to students on all transitional matters, and delivering in-person and virtual services.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Duties include providing an engaging on-boarding experience and comprehensive services for transfer students during their time at Morgan State.
  • The position works collaboratively with other offices on campus to provide seamless transfer services.
  • The Program Coordinator reports to the Senior Program Coordinator, Transfer Student Programming.
  • Support and work closely with the Senior Program Coordinator and Transfer Advisor about academic requirements and selection of courses;
  • disseminate information on institutional policies and procedures;
  • Plan and implement comprehensive support services for transfer students by providing information to students regarding
  • student support services, college policies, program procedures, and guidelines.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to minimize “transfer shock."
  • Develop partnerships and maintain relationships with regional community colleges and universities.
  • Partner with other Enrollment Management and university departments to develop and maintain transfer services, event programming, and resources.
  • Collaborate with academic units to ensure accurate information is available to students.
  • Serve on University committees and participate in new transfer student advisement initiatives.

Requested Minimum Qualifications
Educational Requirements
BA/BS degree from an accredited higher education institution.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strategic thinking with the ability to identify and solve problems and deal with multiple projects simultaneously.
Flexibility to deal with changing department needs.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a broader range of constituents.
Prior advising and transfer experience required
Attends state, regional, or national professional development opportunities on a limited basis.
Experience building programs and student relationships critical to this role
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ellucian Banner Student Information System (SIS) or Student Information System, College Source Transfer Evaluation System (TES®), Maryland ARTSYS articulation system, or other computerized student information system.
Cloud-Based Document Management System ( e.g., Ellucian Banner Document Management), Google Suites Platform, Email Management System (or Customer Relationship Management-CRM), Smartsheet, EAB, etc.)
