Program Coordinator, Sustainable Fashion

POSITION SUMMARY - This position is based in Arlington, VA (currently hybrid and in CI office 2x/week). Remote employment may be considered based on the applicant.
Conservation International is working to transform the fashion sector to sustainable production and to mainstream biodiversity conservation into raw material supply chains by working in collaboration with corporate, government, and NGO partners.
The Sustainable Fashion Coordinator will provide administrative, research, communications, and project support for the Sustainable Fashion program as part of the Sustainable Food and Markets Team within CI’s Center for Sustainable Lands and Waters. This position will play an active role in supporting initiatives such as the Regenerative Fund for Nature and other programs/projects within the Sustainable Fashion team.
The Program Coordinator will lead with administrative staff support, select research, communications/marketing materials, and overall project management in support of the Sustainable Fashion program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the administrative and logistical coordination and operations of the Sustainable Fashion Program and its initiatives, including the Regenerative Fund for Nature.
- Support internal and external engagements by scheduling meetings, coordinating events and working groups, ensuring participant/contact lists are up to date, managing process for responding to inquiries, administering webinars and virtual meetings, assisting in development of meeting materials, and recording meeting minutes/notes.
- Develop program communications, including drafting memos and presentations, maintaining relevant websites and FAQs, and undertaking related communication efforts.
- Conduct research and analysis and prepare reports, presentations, and other communications materials in support of our partnerships with the fashion sector, including companies and NGOs.
- Maintain project files and related databases, including managing Teams platforms and Sharepoint sites for the Sustainable Fashion Program and the Regenerative Fund for Nature.
- Coordinate monitoring and reporting, including supporting the collection and analysis of data, across the Sustainable Fashion and Regenerative Fund for Nature portfolios and compile results for input into donor reports.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Typical office environment.
- Occasional travel may occur.
- A willingness to work flexible hours to support conferences and meetings in different time zones.
- This is a two-year fixed-term position with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability of funds.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- High School or Secondary School education.
- 2 - 4 years of related work experience, preferably in the conservation, NGO, or advocacy arena.
- Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and strong research and proofreading skills.
- Experience working on multicultural teams across time zones.
- Experience in using software, content management, and online tools for electronic communication, project and content management, e.g., hosting meetings and webinars using Microsoft Teams, GoTo Meeting, Zoom, Microsoft Sharepoint, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience supporting, developing, and managing content for websites targeting diverse audiences.
- Ability to function well in a multicultural, diverse, and fast-paced work team environment.
- Comfortable managing multiple duties and adapting to changing priorities.
- Service focus. Courteous, tactful, and proven ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to work under general supervision and take initiative to solve problems under the supervisor's direction.
Preferred
- Bachelors or Advanced degree in a relevant field such as international development, sustainable agriculture, corporate sustainability.
- Proficient user of GIS software. Understanding of software systems, terminology, and procedures. Open to learning and adapting to new software applications.
- Experience in communications, marketing or a related field.
- Experience in grants management and reporting.
- Ability to coordinate projects across a wide range of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of best practices for monitoring and evaluating projects.
- Proficiency in other languages, e.g., Spanish, French, etc.
