Who We Are: The Center for International Students & Scholars (CISS) at Bentley University, is a small office serving over 1000 international students and scholars with immigration advising and U.S. adjustment support. We
committed to making big and positive impacts in our Bentley Community and beyond.
Position responsibilities:
Programming (60%)
-
Manage and coordinate all aspects of the WorldView Program, including participant recruitment, speaker and facilitator training, event scheduling

Assist with CISS immigration-related events, including employment information sessions (CPT/OPT) and travel signatures
-
Attend and help with occasional evening programming (flexible schedule)
Projects (20%)

Review, update and create data management and assessment tools

Review and update office materials, including Microsoft forms, CISS Office manual/SOP, and Immigration information session presentation slides
-
Assist in creating and reviewing orientation materials for incoming students
-
Other projects related to areas of experience and interests
Immigration Processing (20%)
Following comprehensive training, you will:

Review work authorization requests and issue CPT (Curricular Practical Training) and OPT (Optional Practical Training) I-20s
-
Issue initial I-20s for incoming students
-
Provide introductory advising information during weekly open advising hours
Compensation: $20/hr., paid bi-weekly * this position may be used toward graduate internship requirements, if applicable.
Note: This is an in-person position with limited hybrid flexibility
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Available to work approximately 20 hours/week from August/September 2023 –May 2024

Possess excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

Seeking to gain higher/international education administration and student affairs experience

Committed to supporting and advocating for international students in the U.S.
-
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident-Required to access SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) database integral to role
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience living outside of the U.S. and/or proficiency or fluency in a language other than English

Dialogue facilitation training/experience especially cross-cultural or intergroup related
-
Knowledge of F-1 & J-1 non-immigrant visa regulations/policies
