About the Opportunity
The Project Manager and Senior Business Analyst will be part of the PMO team responsible for designing and delivering high quality, custom applications to various internal and external customers across a variety of projects associated with UNC strategic initiatives. The position will be responsible for working closely with key stakeholders to oversee the full SDLC of assigned projects, providing analytical and technical leadership, and gathering, clarifying, and documenting functional requirements as needed. The position is responsible for ensuring a project is well defined and understood by all parties before implementation commences, creating and maintaining project plans, coordinating day-to-day project activities, and communicating regular project status updates. In addition, the Project Manager will be responsible for designing the business processes and functional workflows to accomplish desired requirements most efficiently. The Project Manager will work on projects of significant complexity including multi-campus ERP integrations and real-time systems utilized by campus-based faculty and students such as the Common Number System. This Project Manager will serve as a team member in a resource pool designed to provide expertise in a wide range of skill sets to a variety of internal projects. Effectively, this position will bridge the gap between the functional side of the projects and the information technology side of the projects by facilitating projects from initiation to close and synthesize business requirements into precise functionality suitable for the creation of technical specifications.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The UNC System Office is located in Raleigh, NC in a state-of-the-art high-rise office space in the Dillon Building located in the vibrant Warehouse District. Covered on-site downtown parking is free to our employees. Employees will also have free access to a gym on site, the benefit of being down the block from the Morgan Street Food Hall & Market, as well as other local dining, arts, and shopping amenities.
About the UNC System Office
The UNC System Office includes the offices of the President and other senior administrators of the multi-campus University of North Carolina System. The UNC System is a treasured public institution dedicated to serving the people of North Carolina through world-class teaching, research, and community engagement. Today, nearly 250,000 students are enrolled in our 16 universities across the state and at the NC School of Science and Mathematics. System Office staff is responsible for executing the policies of the UNC Board of Governors and providing University-wide leadership in the areas of academic affairs, business and financial management, long-range planning, student affairs, research, legal affairs, and government relations. The UNC System Office also has administrative oversight of a number of University affiliates, including PBS North Carolina, the North Carolina Arboretum, the NC State Education Assistance Authority, and University of North Carolina Press.
About the Team
The office of the Chief Operating Officer reports to the President of the University and is responsible for internal and campus-focused operational priorities of the University. The office provides oversight for human resources, auditing, and compliance divisions. These divisions have both an internal responsibility to the system office operation and a campus-focused coordinative /leadership role within the noted areas of expertise. The office provides advice and briefings to the President and is expected to build and foster relationships on behalf of the President and to engage with Chancellors while leveraging their expertise to further the President's strategic priorities.
Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
Master's and 1-2 years' experience; or Bachelors and 2-4 years' experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in project management or business application analysis, consulting, or development; or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree and two years of experience in business applications analysis, consulting, or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
